PEER EDUCATION

Interpersonal Violence Peer Educators is a dedicated and passionate group of students working to promote a healthier and safer campus for all students. IPV Peer Educators facilitates workshops on topics such as: healthy relationships, gender socialization, health sexuality, bystander intervention, and supporting survivors. They present to first year students, residence halls, athletic teams, fraternities and sororities, as well as student organizations.

Kaleidoscope: Clubs, sports teams, sororities and fraternities, and all other student groups can request a workshop from Lafayette’s social justice peer educators. Requests can be for specific topics or general social justice and can be tailored for your specific organization’s needs. To learn more about Kaleidoscope, contact Alex Hendrickson, Director of Religious and Spiritual Life, at hendricksa@lafayette.edu.

Faith Zone:  Offers practical tools for learning about different belief systems.  Visit their website to learn more and request a training.

Multicultural Competency Training (MCT) aims to prepare student leaders to successfully perform their duties by providing them with the knowledge, awareness & skills to promote an inclusive and welcoming campus environment. Ideally, this training will also expose attendees to personal development opportunities and encourage the ongoing pursuit of multicultural life-skills development. To learn more about this training, contact Karina Fuentes, Associate Director of Intercultural Development, at fuentesk@lafayette.edu or 610-330-5321.

Mental Health Trainings: Students, faculty and staff have the opportunity to complete mental health and well-being training modules that were created using a public health approach. Participants can develop the knowledge, skills, and language needed to identify and support a student who may be struggling with their mental health.

Safe Zone trainings are opportunities to learn about LGBTQIA+ identities, gender and sexuality, allyship, and examine prejudice, assumptions, and privilege.
